About Me
Fiza is originally from Karachi and currently settled in London. She did her Bachelors in International Relations from Mills College (in the Bay Area, California) and returned to Pakistan to work in the development sector in Pakistan. After two years, she moved to London and completed her Masters in Global Media & Post-National Communication from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) .
She worked for 2 years in the development sector in Pakistan in the fields of Marketing, Communications and Fund-raising. Since 2009 she has been leading the social media and e-marketing of dreamfly, UK WILPF, andNature's Basin while also being a supporter of Zindagi Trust. She is currently working as the Online Editor in The Princess Royal Trust for Carers where she overlooks the content management of their websites and their digital communications and marketing via social media tools.
Fiza has been blogging and writing articles online/and offline since 2003. She has a passion for truth and justice and has an avid interest in the role media does and/or can play in disseminating this to the world. She is particularly interested in global politics and society, the "other"-ing of certain peoples, and the interplay of media with politics, culture and identity-making.
